Positive Behavior Support Overview

The purpose of the Kingswood Positive Behavior Support (PBS) team is to enthusiastically support staff in learning the skills needed to:

Teach and model positive behavior
Build quality relationships with students
Create an effective and productive learning
environment

To ensure a positive school environment in which
good character can flourish, all Kingswood adults
must practice behaviors that support student
independence and responsibility. Adults will do the
following:

Align classroom rules and procedures with the PBS model.
Be clear, consistent, and fair with all students.
Encourage success, both academically and socially, thereby promoting a positive school climate.
Model, practice, teach, and reinforce appropriate positive behavior.
Invite parental involvement and support to enhance the school climate.
Share responsibility in effective discipline.
